I watched and listened as a girl was speaking to her boyfriend the other day.
Girl: I’m beginning to like you, I can really see a future with you, but I’m worried. I’m scared.
Girl: I need to be with a Christian.
Girl: I feel like I have led you on. I’m sorry.

Does that mean she has forsaken him? Do Christians forsake people?
Apparently so.
From this tiny monologue, I’ve further deduced that Abrahamic religions are pretty exclusive machines, ‘Us vs Them’ is ingrained in the teachings. The whole thing seems to be an exercise in closing of the mind, as opposed to opening it up.
What’s more – how about you stop listening to that other human being telling you what they think a 2,000 year old book is trying to say? How about making some of your own inquisitions. Maybe even look at the Book of Thomas, he seemed a bit more clued up than most.
If I had any doubts about my own beliefs before, they’ve certainly been confirmed now. I’m going back to worshiping volcanoes, at least they believe in love.
Poor lad.
